New logo for my shop window
Well here we are again, inevitably. It’s a New Year, and time for a fresh look ‘n’ feel update to The Edible Editor. Scarily, this is my fourth year with this blog, and while it hasn’t always been as frequently updated as I’d have liked (who am I kidding), it really is still my baby: […]
Weathering the storm: St Jude, mass hysteria and zombie apocalypses
The Great British obsession with the weather reached new heights today. Predicted to be the worst storm since the ill-fated Michael Fish forecast of ’87, we locked our windows and doors, battened down the hatches and settled down for a night and morning of mad howling winds and Armageddon skies with the storm dubbed ‘St […]
Opening Night at Glyndebourne Opera House
I always imagined that for my first ever night at the opera I would behave much like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman: crying so much as to almost pee my pants/liking it more than Pirates of Penzance.
Event envy: Sony Xperia Z launch party
Jealous of the endless parties and events that the Made in Chelsea set seem to solely exist to decorate? Me too. Luckily, I have a few ‘industry’ friends who hook me up with freebies from time to time: club memberships, free fashion shows, miniature-sized food (somehow tastes better), goodie bags – that sort of thing.
I’m going to be adding a fair few widgets and badges to my nice new blog to socially engage a bit more. Follow my blog with Bloglovin to receive all my latest posts and updates.
New Year, New Blog
Well this is nicer, isn’t it? Cleaner, more user-friendly, and doesn’t make me feel guilty every time I look at it. Although the logo’s looking a bit too Guardian for my liking (Wordle’s favourite font); I’m open to offers for improvement.
On board with naval networking: Social Media Week
Yesterday saw my second ever stab at hosting an event, and I’m still reeling. Established for writers, bloggers, editors, videographers, designers, producers, PRs and any other content creator ‘meedya’ types, the CCC is basically just a place for people exactly like me. And if you’re immersed in digital like I am you’ll already know what […]
A life less ordinary: How I came to perform in the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony
We’re waiting in Vom 1. Months of early-morning dance rehearsals all come down to this. Immune to 80,000 noisy ticket holders outside, all we hear are instructions from Gina, our Manc director and segment chartist, on our in-ear radios. It’s 9.57pm on Friday 27th July 2012, and we’re about to be watched by an expected […]
Wake me from my politi-coma
I guess you could say I’m politically apathetic. I care enough to watch the news, but not enough to vote. Yes, I’ll admit it: I don’t vote. I clearly remember the mid-90s ad campaign that zipped up the electorate’s mouths with the words: “If you don’t vote, you don’t have a say”. I disagree. My […]
A not-so public service announcement
I’ve been massively absent on the old blogging front recently. Mainly because some bugger / robot hacked through some holes and decided to have a content-mushing party. All my link juice, likes, comments and SEO had effectively been wiped by these blog demons, leaving The Edible Editor looking more than a little worse for wear.
